Malia Jones is a model and surfer from Hawaii. She is credited with furthering interest of young girls in the sport of surfing. Malia is of Hawaiian, Spanish and Filipino descent.
Malia was born in Loma Linda, California, but at age 2 moved to Kailua, Hawaii. According to her, she’s been surfing since she was a baby, which most likely consisted of her parents putting her infantile body on a surf board and laughing as her fear induced tears streamed down her face with each wave. At age 15 she won the United States Amateur Surfing Championship in the girls division. While competing, Surfing Magazine spotted her and asker her to model for their magazine. From there her modeling career skyrocketed.
